7 steps for perfect home manicure
Step 1 – Remove old nail polish
The first step in home manicure procedure is removing the old nail polish from the fingernails. Dip some cotton in your nail polish remover and wipe your nails with this cotton until your old nail polish completely removed. Try not to touch the nail polish remover to the cuticles & sensitive skin around the finger.
Step 2 – Trim & Buff nails
Next step of home manicure is shaping the nails. First, cut your nails with a nail clipper to a length of your choice and then start giving shape to your nails by using a nail file. Now take a nail buffer & start buffing your nail surface to make it smooth. However, do not buff too much because it can weaken the nails.
Step 3 – Soaking hands
The relaxing part of home manicure is soaking. Take some Luke warm water (not hot water) in a bowl and add few drops of your facial cleanser or moisturizing liquid soap. Now soak your hands in this water for 3 – 5 minutes, not over than that because over soaking can damage skin & cuticles. Pat dries your hands with a towel after soaking.
Step 4 – Scrubbing
Next part of home manicure is exfoliation. It will remove the dead skin cells from your hands and makes them softer. Scrubbing is also helpful to improve blood circulation of the hands. Take any of your body scrubs and apply on the hands. Now rub your hands gently. After scrubbing for 5 minutes wash your hands and pat dry with a towel.
Step 5 – Taking care of cuticles
Now it is time to take care of your cuticles. Apply some cuticle cream or cuticle oil on your nails and cuticle. Now push your cuticles back very gently with the help of a cuticle pusher but do not apply too much force. Never, cut the cuticles as it can damage your nails badly because cuticle protects your nails and keep them safe from bacteria.
Step 6 – Moisturizing
Another important part of the home manicure is moisturizing because it makes the skin soft, smooth, supple and nourished. Moisturizing is a must for those who have dry hands. For moisturizing, take any of your moisturizer or hand cream or lotions and applies it on your entire hands gently.
Step 7 – Apply nail polish
The manicure will be incomplete without glam up the nails. Right? Take some cotton and wipe your nails (not cuticles) to remove extra cream or lotion. Now it is time to apply nail polish. First, apply a base coat on your nails and wait until it dries. After that apply your favorite color nail polish and after it dries, apply it for the second time and let them dries again. Finally, apply the clear top coat to add more shine and let it dry. Now you are done, enjoy your newly beautiful hands.
